Hi everyone!
Today we spent the morning working on our homestay families’ farms. We weeded, then picked lettuce, cabbage, and other vegetables for dinner. In the afternoon we went to the nearby town of Leh, a lively trading town and the capital of Ladakh. We had an amazing lunch at a Tibetan restaurant and tried several different types of momos, or dumplings. For dessert we had a local recipe of ginger tea. After lunch we went to LEDeG, a local ecology center, which promotes sustainable travel and tourism in Ladakh. There, we watched a documentary film called Ancient Futures about the pressures facing traditional Ladakhi culture.
